Bitcoin Climbs Above 6,005.1 Level, Up 5.10%

Bitcoin rose above the $6,005.1 threshold on Tuesday. Bitcoin was trading at 6,005.1 by 15:00 (14:00 GMT) on the Index, up 5.10% on the day. It was the largest one-day percentage gain since April 2.

The move upwards pushed Bitcoin's market cap up to $105.7B, or 55.92% of the total cryptocurrency market cap. At its highest, Bitcoin's market cap was $241.2B.

Bitcoin had traded in a range of $5,929.1 to $6,005.3 in the previous twenty-four hours.

Over the past seven days, Bitcoin has seen a rise in value, as it gained 12.58%. The volume of Bitcoin traded in the twenty-four hours to time of writing was $17.7B or 31.10% of the total volume of all cryptocurrencies. It has traded in a range of $5,319.5439 to $6,005.2583 in the past 7 days.

At its current price, Bitcoin is still down 69.78% from its all-time high of $19,870.62 set on December 17, 2017.

Ethereum was last at $179.05 on the Index, up 8.28% on the day.

XRP was trading at $0.30485 on the Index, a gain of 1.84%.

Ethereum's market cap was last at $18.8B or 9.97% of the total cryptocurrency market cap, while XRP's market cap totaled $12.8B or 6.78% of the total cryptocurrency market value.
